Rumor has it that Sackboy has reason to smile because word on the streets is that Little Big Planet will become a greatest hits game very soon. When that happens, the color of the game box magically turns to a transparent red and the price magically falls to $29.99 MSRP. By the way it’s the GOTY edition that’s rumored to become a Greatest Hit which means that in addition to the standard game, it features exclusive levels from 18 members of the LittleBigPlanet community, the “Metal Gear Solid“, “Monsters” and “History” costume and level packs and the “Animals” costume pack.
The other games rumored to be getting Greatest Hits status are:
- Killzone 2
- Resistance 2
- UFC Undisputed

Little Big Planet must be selling really well because there are rumors of bringing it to the PSP sometime in 2009. The game could give the PSP a little boost in sales which have been lagging as developer’s have been developing on the DS more as of late. How much Sackboy will have to give up in order to be ported to the PS3′s little portable friend?
After a long wait and countless Media Molecule teasers, LittleBigPlanet is reported to have been spoted at some GameStops across the country. The puzzle platformer and world creation video game was supposed to come out last week but one of the background music tracks references two expressions that can be found in the Qur’an which caused the one week delay. Now look at how happy this news made Sackboy.
Little Big Planet is coming out in October and what a better way to show off this cool new game by showing this cool new game along with tetris. Little Big Planet lets you create and play through levels that you design and being able to design a level like Tetris makes me think that this game will be deep.

Super Mario Galaxy was in development for about seven years before it was available. Production started around the time Nintendo finished up Donkey Kong Jungle Beat in late 2004. It was first shown to the public at E3 in 2006. After some delays, it was finally released in North America on November 12, 2007.
In the game, the player controls Mario as he travels through outer space trying to find Princess Peach and rescue her from Bowser. The Levels are made up of galaxies that each have planetoids. Mario collects Power Stars by finishing puzzles and tasks and defeating certain enemies. As more Power Stars are collected, more galaxies open up to the player. What’s different about this Mario game is that each level is on a three-dimensional planet, allowing Mario to run freely while rotating around the level with some two-dimensional restrictions in certain areas. While playing on planetoids, comets can fall which add additional tasks to the gameplay.
Gameplay feels similar to how it did in 3D Mario games of the past. When traveling around levels, Mario can lose health when bumping into enemies. Coins act as health and help fill Mario’s meter. Although normally only 3 units, Mario’s health cars can be expanded to six units when Mario collects a Life Mushroom. In addition to the single player game, a two-player mode has been added called Co-Star Mode where players work together to shoot enemies.
As with most Wii games, the Wii-mote adds a great level of fun. Early on in the game, Mario earns a spin technique that is used by shaking the controller. The graphics look colorful and vibrant and control feels good during gameplay. The teamwork needed in two-player mode adds fun also, although it’s not very challenging. Super Mario Galaxy has sold very well and is currently one of the best-selling standalone Wii games.
